From Baltimore, Maryland, Mia Miata is a seasoned vocalist that brings us a rich sound of Soul and Jazz to captivate a style she calls Jazzy Soul. Jazzy Soul can be described as a fusion of Soul under the strong influence of traditional jazz heavily inspired by Sarah Vaughn, Nina Simone, Phyllis Hyman, Anita Baker, and Cassandra Wilson. Mia Miata is also a seasoned adult educator who has a history of accomplishment with attainment in meeting student needs.
Mia offers direct leadership to provide students with academic success. After completing her B.S. in Telecommunications, and prior to beginning her doctoral program in Community College Leadership, she has worked for many years in the Baltimore City Public School System as a special educator. Her strengths have yielded gains in student success, retention, GED completion, curriculum writing, and increasing standardized test scores. Mia is working on publishing her first comic book, and she is the host of the popular podcast, "Goddess talk Live."
